Chloroform
01. Summary:
In chapter one, chloroform was the main topic. It was mostly used in
the killing of Frederic Mors, an orderly in a nursery home. He used
Chloroform as a poison because it efficiently killed his
patients/victims. The carbon, hydrogen and chlorine that mixed
together to make Chloroform also attracted more killers. Albert
Patrick and Charles Jones conspired and succeeded in killing
millionaire William Rice using Chloroform. In the end thanks to a
crooked and drunken coroner system many people got off easy or in some
cases away with Chloroform killings
02. State of matter at room temperature (20o C) Solid/liquid/gas-Properties with reference to COMPRESSABILITY, VOLUME, SHAPE, KINETIC ENERGY
State of matter: liquid
03. Chemical/Physical properties-categorize as intensive/extensive
Intensive-
Extensive-
04.Classify matter-pure substance vs. mixtures
05. Bond type with explanation
06. Lewis structures to illustrate bonding

02. State of matter at room temperature (20o C) Solid/liquid/gas-Properties with reference to COMPRESSABILITY, VOLUME, SHAPE, KINETIC ENERGY
State of matter: liquid
- Low compressibility
- Medium kinetic energy
- Volume constant
- Shape depends on container
03. Chemical/Physical properties-categorize as intensive/extensive
Intensive-
- Density 1.48g/cm^3
- Melting point- -82.3 F
Extensive-
- Molar mass 119.38 g/mol
04.Classify matter-pure substance vs. mixtures
- Pure substance
- Compound
05. Bond type with explanation
- Covalent bond because the compound only has nonmetal
06. Lewis structures to illustrate bonding
